| Friday, after a successful early meeting in Pasadena, we treated ourselves to crêpes at The Crêpe Vine. I had the chicken and mushroom, and J couldn't wait to dig into the carnitas.

We showed some restraint and didn't get a dessert, even though the delicious memory of the Moulin crêpe we got when Y was in town was haunting and taunting us:

Later that evening, we headed down to Garden Grove for a birthday dinner for my aunt. Got to see my cousins, including the ever-adorable RYAN!

| Today was a scorcher in the valley! Headed out to Chatsworth today for a baby shower. We stuffed ourselves silly, hung out with friends, and lounged poolside. Not a shabby way to spend a lazy, hazy Sunday afternoon.
They had bunches of peonies for everyone to take home as favors! J has said they look like tissue paper cabbages. I say they're beautiful, and I'm so sad they won't be in season for the wedding.
Speaking of les fleurs...
My orchid is growing - dare I say - flourishing! When my mom visited me a couple months ago, she filled my entire house with plants and flowers. It's amazing how much more of a home it feels like with their company. But of course, as soon as she left, all of the blooms promptly fell off -- seriously. I killed the last orchid I had, so how excited am I to see these!
